network infrastructure. The FVNO will ride on an existing network provider to use its network infrastructure

Edgecomms as a fixed virtual network operator uses an existing mobile network to offer a fixed line service. This
approach also enables us to offer a fixed line service with nationwide coverage.
Basically, we install a wireless terminal on the customer's premises and assign a fixed line number (eg 03 2333 9388) or 014 number or 1700 number for their in-coming and out-going calls. |

What is the difference between a fixed 'virtual' network service like Edgecomms' and a fixed line service provider?  |

From the end-user experience, it is no different from the traditional fixed line service. The customer will still use a telephone set to make or receive calls.
The main difference is how the service is delivered. We are using a wireless network to deliver a fixed line service as compared to a traditional fixed line provider, where a physical cable needs to be laid to the customer's premises. |
